I overnighted on Maui, staying in a hostel in the old part of Wailuku. While waiting for check-in time, I discovered that a local youth dance school was putting on an end-of-semester recital at the historic Iao Theatre nearby. The dance school is so popular, they had to put on 10 recitals in order for all their students to perform! The audience was full of enthusiastic family members and friends of the performers.Read more

Traveler In the evening I went to the restaurant up the street, The Empanada Lady, which had a great jazz/blues band playing. The first of many food shots is my Cuban Ropa Vieja Flank Steak dinner.
