• Turkish desserts: Baklava and Künefe

    Baklava is a rich, flaky pastry layered with nuts and sweetened with honey, while Künefe is a warm, cheesy dessert soaked in syrup, topped with cream/icecreem.

    Baklava is very popular also in Greece, North Macedonia and in the Balkans in general, in the areas that were under the Ottoman Empire.

    The Loku, also known as Turkish Delights, are very popular in the bazaars. They are cubes made of sugar with the addition of various colorants and flavors (quite basic, I did not really like them a lot).
