• Henley Royal Reggatta Picnic

    July 7, 2019 in England ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Having had a dolled up afternoon in the Steward's enclosure on the Thursday, I had wanted Eliane and Matt to see the other side of the regatta. The side where we grab a few bits and pieces for a picnic and a bottle of Pimm's and another of lemonade, have a wander half way down the course and find a spot for a picnic amongst the other plebs. It was a lovely afternoon with pleasant weather and good company. For someone who didn't have much in the fridge or pantry I was able to put on a half decent spread and was quite impressed with myself. There was definitely no room for anyone to be hungry :)
Because we had arrived so late we didn't see many of the races but, we were treated to see the Queen's barge, Gloriana, being rowed up the course to conclude the regatta.
