Catch the LDR Bug With Webb

What an amazing day!! But first....

Well, I thought I had found a dark, secluded corner of the world to sleep in last night. If I had gotten up at 0400 like normal, I probably would've been gone before all the construction workers showed up 🤣. But when I jolted awake just after 0530, several work cans were parked across the parking lot at both ends of the other long warehouse. I was up, packed, and gone in 20 minutes 💪.

No one said any or approached me, but I got a couple of glances as guys were coming out of a porta potty, which I was looking forward to visiting before I packed up. Alas, my blue water day was not today.

Fortunately, there was a Wawa right down the road. Free breakfast!! Well, I purchased a huge coffee and breakfast burrito with one of my gas gift cards I recei6for winning the first quarter of the Ride To Eat challenge. Yay!!!!

Then I went to All American HD. They don't open until 1000, and since I was so early, I took advantage of the empty parking lot and sunshine to lay out all of my wet things from my left saddlebag. 😞 Those two days of rain won't stop pestering me 😡.

At 0930, a lovely woman Pam greeted me, s I packed up and rolled over to the service door to unload everything for my 95,000-mile service. Pam came back out, then escorted me to an employee bathroom with a shower 😱, so I was able to clean up and change clothes for today 👍.

This dealership is one of the best out there! First, it was so cool how almost everyone already knew my name and why I was there. Second, everyone was so nice. Just little things, like smiling at me, acknowledging me when they walked by, asking how I got the Harley logo on my hands...those sort of things that make you feel present in a space.

Second, Service Manage Mike and Service Rep Maddie listened to what I told them about the bike and passed everything on to the tech. Not only did they do a 3-hole 5k service, but they replaced my tires that Dunlop had sent them, replaced my rear brake pads, installed my new Thrashin' Supply shift linkage, and installed another passenger cup holder.

Third, while I waited for all of that, Marketing Jamie set up a table for me to do my fundraiser of signing the bike. Well, not the whole bike obviously, but I brought in and cleaned up the saddlebags 👍. I only got three donations, but that's three more than yesterday, so I'm calling it a win 💪. Plus, I reworked my routes for the next few days, added shocks to my next service in Detroit, and scheduled the service after that in Oregon 🤣. Two steps ahead as much as possible.

And fourth, just before 1600, I was loaded and ready to settle the bill. Maddie handed me the paperwork with a red line through the balance 😳. GM Keith covered the entire service 😱. I was speechless. I wanted to hug her, but I shook her hand and Mike's hand and hollered thanks out to whole store 🤣. Keith and Jamie had gone to lunch, and I did hug Jamie before she left. I can't say enough thanks to the whole store for an amazing day.

As for the rest of the day, I'm not even out of Maryland yet 🤦. It is such slow going up here. Oh well. I'll hit it hard tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that, etc.

Oh! Put this on your To Ride list: Roots and Tides Byway along the Maryland Atlantic coast. So cool! I wish I could've spent the night in every little town and explored along the way. It would take a week and be totally worth it!!
