Catch the LDR Bug With Webb

It was really nice to sleep in until 0630 this morning 🤣. I was awake, but I didn't get out of bed until 0900 🤣👍.

My first order of business this morning was to go to an urgent care clinic. I thought I was super lucky by having a hospital with a clinic literally across the street from the hotel. So I went.

The next hour of my life was on the phone with both the VA and Tricare only to discover the clinic accepted neither despite them telling me they did 🤬.

Tricare pointed me to another clinic, so I rode over there. Not only did they take Tricare, but they also took my VA, which does not have a co-pay like Tricare. 👍 Everybody was super nice, and best of all, the doc truly listened to my history and symptoms and filled the script with my usual concoction even before the test results came back. [These are routine problems and nothing serious. I'm just getting a jump on them so they don't peak during the Hoka Hey, which they would do otherwise.] Then, they sent my script to Walgreens.

Again, they were really nice, but I spent the next hour waiting for them to fill the script 😞. But they didn't because they didn't accept either VA or Tricare. WTF? I've used them for years. 🤬 They said they would send the script to CVS across the street if I would go there and tell them what's going on.

Off to CVS...where I met the nastiest most unprofessional pharmacist I have ever encountered. She refused to take the script 🤬. She said I had used all of my outside scripts for the year and I had to go to the VA. Um, no, there's no such thing. And Tricare insurance has nothing to do with the VA. She told me again that I had to go to the VA. Fuck her. 🤬

I went back to Walgreens and explained that ignorant conversation. I asked them to tell me what it would cost with no insurance and to go ahead and fill it--I have to have it--and I'll see what I can figure out 😞.

While they were taking care of other customers, I called Tricare. After 10 minutes of making my way through the idiotic AI system 🤬, I finally got to a human being who wasn't much better. I explained what was going on and he said tha both Walgreens and CVS are in network to accept Tricare. He asked what the Walgreens computer said when they attempted to run it, and I asked him to wait as the assistant finished with the customer she was helping. He hung up on me. 🤬

I spent another 10 minutes with the same idiotic AI system 🤬, and finally got to a human being who was a little bit better than the previous human being but still not much better than the AI. All she did was transfer me to Express Scripts, the contractor for Tricare pharmaceuticals.

Another 5 minutes of AI 💩 [they need a poo emoji without a smile!] to reach the most helpful person on the phone yet. She explained the problem and fixed it so that Walgreens could bill Tricare insurance for my script.

Here's the problem:

If you have another insurance listed at a pharmacy, like VA, and they run it before Tricare but then run Tricare, it will automatically "tell" Tricare that you have other insurance, which will flag your account. When your account is flagged, it will literally tell the pharmacy to bill the primary insurance and it will not allow them to bill Tricare. You can remove the flag by calling Express Scripts, but you'll have to call every time. 🤬 Every. 🤬 Time. 🤬 This has never happened until this year, March exactly, so who's stupid idea was this? 🤬

After hours of the whole fiasco, I figured I might as well stop at Walmart on my way back to the hotel. I mean, my blood pressure was already high, so what harm could it do, right 😉? Actually, no, it was fine. I got what I needed or a substitute, and made it back to the hotel a few minutes ago.

Now, it's time to check out the pool with my travelin' man's cooler aka trashcan 🤣 full of cheap but ice cold adult beverages 😎. I'm using my SharonFest coozie that I got from Cincinnati. Thanks again, Buffalo Bob!!

TIPS FROM A PRO: If you're using hotel trash cans as coolers, you have to use the cheap ones. The nice metal cans leak. The trash cans also sweat a lot, so I recommend putting them in the bathtub or the sink when you're in your room. And if you're trying to make the ice last to avoid a trip down the hall in your undies, you can wrap a bath towel around the can and flip the end over the top. That will insulate it a little. 🍻
