It was a cramped but uneventful 11-hour flight. I watched one of my favorite movies, Lost in Translation – perfect to get me amped for Tokyo. I left at 11:40 Sunday morning in California and arrived at 2:30 Monday afternoon in Tokyo. Fortunately, I was able to get some decent sleep to prepare me for the 16-hour time difference. I’m back to living in the future!

Going through immigration, they weren’t very happy that I didn’t have a place to stay yet (yeah, that’s how I roll). They told me I couldn’t enter the country until I booked something and sent me off with my phone. I wrote something in and lied. I guess I’m here illegally.Read more
