Back at the building site - a tornado has visited

We drive home to Les Petites Rivieres, via Aigre where we stop for lunch at our favourite, Nana's Epicure Cafe. It's pumping, but Nana still has room for us and makes us a most welcome salad. Next stop is the car wash where we successfully remove all the orange Sahara desert that has landed on the car in Corsica and then we pickup a few groceries at Intermarche.

We finally arrive home in the late afternoon, to find that a mini tornado, the one that in 10 minutes brought 120 kph winds, rain and hail to Fouras (on the coast nearby), had passed through LPR. A big tree branch missed the Palais de Bois by inches, well centimetres at least. And another branch almost took out the country clothesline (a bit of rope between two trees but artistically propped with a forked stick). Leaves everywhere but thankfully no damage.

The builders are back and the 200mm natural wood insulation days is fitted in the gable roof. The windows and door frame are also fitted. Its begining to look like a real 'house' now. We're also surprised at how quickly the grass is greening up and guess there must have been some significant rain.

Washing, some pool maintenance due to the storm and two days of chainsawing kept us busy and by Saturday it was Marche time again.Read more
