Kurama-dera Temple

I decided to skip the first part of the Kitayama East Route 2 as it followed a road and adjacent towns and just went directly to the end with the Kurama-dera and Kifune Shrine.
With clear skies, Kurama-dera was amazing, surrounded by low mountains. Sadly, autumn foliage was well past peak in the mountains.
The mountain trail to Kifune Shrine was more crowded than in 2019 but still felt magical.Read more
