Little shop in Harrods. What a mind blowing store! Ross got me out of there as quickly as possible before I did too much financial damage...one bottle of perfume only.

Upgraded to a suite at The Berkeley... costs a cool £1400 per night usually. Woo hoo. Living it up...long wait for a room turned out to be worth it after all.

Up at 2.30am drinking coffee and tea in hotel bar with cleaners 😑 decided to take a walk in Hyde Park at 4am. Watched sunrise. Beautiful oasis in the heart of London.

a big day of walking in London

Caught a cab to Tower of London then walked across Tower Bridge and along and around river Thames past The Shard, The Globe, London Eye, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Finally walked to Buckingham Palace and then back to Hotel. Approx 12 km and my feet are feeling it!
Very warm day and managed to get slightly burnt on my forehead.
I really wanted to go on the London Eye but the school holiday crowds were incredible. It was hard to move on the south bank. We would have had to wait in line for at least 1 hr. I don't think so...
Lots of buskers and entertainers and a great atmosphere. But glad to get back to hotel after a long day ☺Read more

traveling to Paris

Eurostar trip is excellent and fast. Just under a couple of hours. Got frisked on way through customs because i beeped (why is it always me?).
Gard Nore train station in Paris was a nightmare. So busy and people harrassing you for a taxi. We told the same guy 4 times that we didn't want a taxi! We eventualky found our driver who was waiting at a different exit. He was great and took us right to the front door of our hotel.Read more

First night in Hotel Legend Saint Germain. Free upgrade on arrival which was great as the rooms are all small as is often the case in Europe. Right in the heart of the Saint Germain district which is close to everything but not quite as touristy. Lots of great cafes and restaurants. Went out for dinner and I had salmon tartare which was lovely. Wow Paris is pricey though...Read more

River cruise on the Seine

Wonderful cruise on the River Seine this evening at 6pm. We had booked a tour with a champagne tasting. Apparently another couple had not turned up so we had a guide and the front section of the boat to ourselves! The guide was lovely and pointed out all of the major landmarks. What a wonderful part of Paris. Champagne was great too. So glad we booked it....Read more
