We woke up early and hit the road, driving south towards Split. We made it just in time to secure a spot at the Stobreč Campground – a stroke of luck since they don’t take reservations for stays under four days. After a quick stop at Decathlon to restock gas for our stove, we were off to explore the town.

The heart of the city is Diocletian’s Palace, a massive Roman fortress that dates back to the 4th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old town is a maze of narrow streets lined with charming cafes, shops, and historic sites. We took a leisurely walk along the Riva promenade, with stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and the bustling marina.

It was the perfect way to end a day on the road before heading back to camp for the night.
