    Church in Mexico

    April 5 in Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

    First full day in Mexico!

We connected with our translators, Francisco and Isela, at their church this morning. Always special to be back—familiar faces, shared mission, and a reminder of the relationships that make this trip so meaningful.

A few thoughts from the message today stayed with me…
It’s one thing to hear about God—but another to truly know Him. And when you do, it changes everything.

After church, we went out for some delicious tacos—simple, good, and shared together.

Now we’re getting ready to build.
Pray for us today as we start the house—strength, unity, and that everything we do would reflect Jesus.

  • First day building

    April 6 in Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

A great start to the week.

Today we poured the floor, built six wall sections, and enjoyed beautiful weather all day. The team worked really well together, and it was exciting to see so much progress on the very first day.

We are tired, grateful, and looking forward to another good day tomorrow.

  • Putting up the walls!

    April 8 in Mexico ⋅ 🌙 11 °C

Today was a big step forward. We put the frames together, and just like that—the house started to take shape. By the end of the day, the walls were up, the roof was on, and we had everything ready for stucco. We finished the wiring, tar paper, and chicken wire, setting the stage for the next phase.

At the same time, a group of seven went to another Amor-built home that still needed its second coat of stucco. They met a wonderful family—a mom with three children—and were able to serve and connect in a meaningful way.

In the evening, we gathered and heard from a local pastor about the impact of Amor’s work in this community. It was powerful. We prayed for him, and he prayed for us.

    A full day—physically and spiritually.

  • Completing the house!

    April 8 in Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

    What a day.

We finished the roof and applied two coats of stucco—bringing the house to completion. It’s amazing how quickly something that started as a foundation just days ago now looks like a home.

One of the most meaningful moments was the key ceremony. Standing together, we prayed for Antonio and Teresa, asking God’s blessing over their home and their family.

We also gathered for a group photo—marking a moment none of us will forget.

Three days of hard work, teamwork, and seeing God at work in real and tangible ways.

  • Saying Goodbye in Mexico

    April 9 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

We packed up our campsite this morning and said goodbye to Andreas, our amazing Amor Staff member.

We then headed over to Francisco and Isela’s house.

We shared a special time of prayer together in their home—praying for them and thanking God for their friendship. We first built a house with them back in 2008, and ever since then they have faithfully served as our translators. They’ve now been part of 15 trips with us.

    It was a bittersweet goodbye.
We’re also hoping we might see them again—this time at the Corn Maze.

We’ve now crossed the U.S. border, and for the first time in a while… warm showers.

Grateful for the journey, and for the people who make it so meaningful.
