21st of Sept - and first SNOW!!!

You could think we mention the snow, because it is “already” snowing - which is back home quite unusual. Here, in Alaska we should mention the snow because it hasn’t snowed “earlier” this year. But the real reason for me to mention it is, because seeing, smelling and feeling snow makes me happy. Like really happy - every single time. No matter if it’s just a tiny bit or loads of it.
Since my journey started at the end of December and we were following summer I haven’t seen snow for a long, long time. So I was really excited when I opened the door this morning and tiny-tiny snowflakes were dancing through the air. A little bit was on our bikes, car and the on the earth, the mountains had more snow than the day before.
That it’s going to get colder now and we need to put on more clothes during the night won’t be a problem (as long as there is snow outside). 🤗❄️🥰
P.S. Not that you think now, that we were covered by snow - it was the first day of snow here. So it didn’t stay (on the floor, just on the mountains). Just sayin.

Eigentlich könnte man vermuten, wir erwähnen den Schnee, weil es “schon” schneit. Das ist zu Hause zu diesem Zeitpunkt eher unwahrscheinlich. Hier, in Alaska ist es vielleicht erwähnenswert, weil es “erst jetzt” schneit. Für mich aber ist es wichtig, weil der Anblick, Duft und das Gefühl von Schnee mich glücklich macht - jedes einzelne Mal. Auch wenn es wirklich wenig ist.
Da meine Reise Ende letzten Dezember startete und wir mehr oder minder dem Sommer hinterher reisen, war ich heute morgen umso glücklicher, als ich die Tür öffnete und die kleinen weißen Flocken in der Luft tanzten. Ein kleines bisschen lag auf dem Auto, auf den Rädern und der Erde; die Bergspitzen waren ein bisschen verschneiter als am Tag davor.
Dass es nun wahrscheinlich wirklich kalt ist nachts und wir uns noch dicker einmummeln müssen?! Wird kein Problem sein, solange dann morgens Schnee liegt. 🤗❄️🥰
P.S. Bitte nun nicht denken, dass wir in Schneebergen untergegangen sind. Es war der erste Schnee - also keiner, der liegen bleibt (außer auf den Bergen). Leider.Læs mere
