Sanremo

In Sanremo bezogen wir unser Airbnb Nr. 2. Etwas geräumiger, dafür ein paar Schritte weiter weg vom Meer. Während Nickels remote arbeitete, erkundeten Ulli und ich die Gegend. Die Fahrradstrecke am Meer entlang führte es uns "nur" zu einem Supermarkt, der schon mit seiner eindrucksvollen Käseauswahl protzte. Mit dem Abendessen im Gepäck ging es wieder den Berg hinauf und es wurde fantastisch gekocht.
Am nächsten morgen wurden wir mit "einem Sturm aus der Hölle" (Zitat Ulli) geweckt und ließen es daher sehr ruhig angehen. Ab dem Mittag wurde es schon besser und Ulli und ich liefen zum Zentrum und in die Altstadt. Sanremo ist eine schöne, italienische und kleine Stadt; hier geht alles zu Fuß.
Unser erster Stopp war das 1905 eröffnete Casino. Es beeindruckt mit seiner Architektur - man kann sich vorstellen, wie hier früher gespielt wurde. Leider sind heute nur noch Spielautomaten vorhanden. Ansonsten trödelten wir durch die Innenstadt, vor allem La Pigna. Sie ist auf mindestens einem Hügel erbaut und reizt mit seinen tollen Farben und kleinen Gässchen. Vor allem der Ausblick vom Giardin Regina Elena Richtung Hafen und Meer überzeugt. Nickels gesellte sich am Nachmittag dazu und am Abend haben wir gemeinsam gekocht - Pasta und davon selbstverständlich viel zu viel.

Sanremo was city no.2 and therefore Airbnb no.2 for the three of us. The apartment was a little bigger than before, with a sea view but therefore some steps further from it. While Nick was working Ulli and I explored our surroundings. Along the cycling pass that is next to the sea we "only" went to a supermarket which impressed with its broad cheese selection. With all dinner-ingredients in our bags we went back home and prepared (and ate) a wonderful dinner.
The next morning we woke up and witnessed "strong winds directly from hell" (quoting Ulli here). Therefore we had a slow start. Around lunch time, the winds were getting less, Ulli and I walk into town. Since Sanremo is (yet another) small, Italian, beautiful city you can do everything by foot.
Our first was the Casino, which was built in 1905. Its architecture lets you picture the golden years of Poker and Roulette games that were played here. Today there unfortunately exclusively machines to play with. Other than that we strolled around town, especially La Pigna. Sanremo is built on at least one hill and it allures with its tiny and colourful streets; especially the view from Giardin Regina Elena towards the harbour and the sea is magnificent! Nickels joined in on our walk within the afternoon and again, in the evening we made a home-cooked meal: different kinds of pasta!Read more
