A spontaneous one

We knew we’d be going somewhere with our van for a week or two this October, but we weren’t sure where. Friday (the 2nd) Nick suggested we could go to South England and visit a friend - and I loved this thought! So here we are.. Read more

    Start

    October 6 in Germany ☁️ 17 °C

As always: later than expected, we started in Hamburg after a full day around 8pm.
But so far it seems as we didn’t forget anything and we had all three passports (we made one for Jaro Monday) and all three Visa. So let’s go! 🚐Read more

  • Surprise visit

    Oct 6–7 in Germany ⛅ 16 °C

With us deciding this late where to go and what to do we contacted some friends in Bremen, if they’d be up for a visit. And they were! We arrived late in the evening and had a beautiful morning together. Especially Jaro (who from now on will be called “Wohnmobilbaby” as our friends son named him that) loved it there and was super curious and happy to explore.Read more

  • Groningen

    October 7 in the Netherlands ☁️ 20 °C

With a sleeping baby we drove to Groningen, where we spent most of our day. It is a beautiful town, everything is within walking distance and the it was easy to enjoy the sunshine and atmosphere.
Jaro was super excited to see this many bikes and after quite a day of new impressions he fell asleep while I was carrying him back to the van.

  • Quiet night

    Oct 7–8 in the Netherlands ☁️ 20 °C

We decided to go on a private campground for the night and it was a good idea. The place has a community house (we basically had to ourselves), a beautiful camping area and Nick made dinner for us outside. Plus there was breakfast! Unfortunately we couldn’t have the ferry bread (bread with sprinkles) with Jaro (too sweet). So we’ll keep that for later. ;)Read more

  • Oosterhout

    October 8 in the Netherlands ⛅ 15 °C

Traveling with a kid makes you stop at random places you’ve never heard before. So before crossing over to Belgium we stopped in Oosterhout. On google maps it seemed like a nice city with a cool playground. We can confirm! It was raining every now and then but Jaro enjoyed his playtime and I think all three of us enjoyed this small town.

PS Obviously we went to a café and it seems they wanted to make everything extra special for their guests. So all drinks came with a tiny brownie plus a bit of whipped cream, even the babycino which also had some smarties. Not that we already had big portion of whipped cream with the apple cake. I was very happy to have ordered my hot chocolate without it. 😀
