Calama ⏩ Santiago de Chile

We had slept so well on the bus, you could lay completely flat (if the feet part was used correctly 🙈). The bus had a pretty good suspension and the road was flat and straight, so we barely woke up during the night. In the morning we stopped for breakfast at the bus terminal in Copiapó. The options were limited but a hot coffee and a sandwich with an unidentifiable intensly flavoured chicken paste was still nice 😅
The day went by pretty quickly chatting, napping, watching series, reading, planning, playing games on the phone. The landscape didn't change a lot, dusty coloured mountains with occasional green brown patches and sepia villages.

We arrived on time at 8pm in Santiago de Chile and took a taxi to our hotel. It wasn't very far but too far to walk with all the luggage and we didn't feel like checking the metro 😁 The hotel was pretty old with rugs everywhere but pretty clean and the receptionist was very nice. We dropped off the luggage in the room and went directly to the neighborhood for a dinner because the bus had skipped a lunch stop 🥲 We tried a typical dish, Chorrillana, fries covered in cheese, caramelized onions and several other stuffs thrown on top!
