• Buenos Aires -> Puerto Iguazú

    15. marts 2023, Argentina ⋅ 🌧 28 °C

Shortly before 5 I woke up to Julia standing next to me and waiting 😅 So we went to the check in desk and dropped off our luggage. Then we went through security quickly and looked forward to another ~2 hours nap. On the way to some comfortable seats we encountered Vix, a woman from the UK that had been on the Antarctica trip with us. Her flight to the Iguazú Falls was about to leave when we arrived. Just when she got up for the boarding process I had received an email that our flight got delayed 🙄 So we had 5 hours more than planned at the airport... We received a breakfast from the airline with coffee and super sweet croissants. Then we napped a little more, planned our next stops, transports and accomodations. Almost on time we departed then at 12:50 from Buenos Aires EZE to Iguazú Falls all the way to the Northern border of Argentina to Brazil and Paraguay. On the way to the airport we could already see the rivers and large lakes spread out between vast rainforests. It had just rained so the air was hot and humid.

We got our luggage and booked a bus to the city. Upfront we had checked on hotels and got dropped off at a B&B located in a comfortable walking distance from the town center. We didn't want to book through booking.com because it can be a problem with the online payment and exchange rate, also sometimes you get a better rate. We left our luggage and after freshening up went straight to the bus terminal to plan our visit to the Iguazú Falls. We booked the option for the next morning and then went to have dinner at a restaurant that the receptionist had recommended. It was a good choice and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with a nice bottle of wine. By the time we finished it was 20:00 and we were exhausted from the long travel since yesterday morning. On the way back we stopped at a few souvenir shops as it started to rain heavily. We tried to spend a little time walking around in the stores but there wasn't anything special so we walked back to our hotel and dried out there ☺️
