Wrexham to Bedford

First of 2 days in Bedford. No particular reason for picking Bedford except it’s on the way to Dover for our car ferry back to France. We stopped at Newport for lunch - what we thought was a nice little English village. Then on to Bedford staying at a Mercure right on the river that bisects the city. Arrived in time to find a laundrette and do some washing!!!. Ahh the luxury of room-service for dinner.

One thing about driving in England is that they love roundabouts - if you stay off the main highways you are likely to have to drive through one every 3 or 4 kilometres. Now roundabouts shouldn’t be particularly hard to negotiate, but sometimes they are - double roundabouts with traffic lights. I have to admit a couple of times got lost and came out of the wrong exit!!!! Anne is still doing a fantastic navigator’s job 🗺.Læs mere
