Fort Raleigh Nagional Park and gardens

The tip of the island is the National park where they believed the actual location of the settlement was. There’s an earthen mound that was recreated on the site of the original mound used as a defense structure.

The Elizabethan Gardens next door honors and remembers the settlers that have disappeared. In the rose garden, there’s a rose given by Queen Elizabeth II from her Windsor Garden as a gift for Americas bicentennial.Læs mere
