    There is so much to see and do in the historic area if Savannah. From the water fountain to the prohibition museum, so much to experience. We did the old town trolly tour in addition to the ghost tour.Read more

  • Hilton Head

    We’ve arrived in South Carolina. The group is finally together with Coda joining us. We explored the Sea Pine Shell Ring which is an area 4,800 years old. The preserve has lovely boardwalks with plentiful wildlife. We also explored the Coastal Discovery Museum and saw more plant and animal life.Read more

  • Beaufort SC

    Beaufort is known for the filming location of Forrest Gump. There is also many historic homes and buildings. We enjoyed a visit to the kazoo factory and was able to make our own.

  • Morgan Island (aka Monkey Island)

    We anchored next to Morgan Island for the night on our way out of Beaufort. The next morning we slowly cruised by hoping to see monkeys. We were lucky and spotted a mamma and her baby. I only managed to record a short moment of the mamma leaving.Read more

  • Charleston SC

    We stayed in Charleston for a few days, walking the historic downtown, city market, and even took the kids to a trampoline house. We also took side trips to the historic landmarks.

  • McLeod Plantation

    We took a short trip to explore the plantation. There was a guided tour that explained the locations significance throughout history. At one point it served as HQ during the Civil War. Another point, the old slave quarters were homes until the 1990s.Read more

  • McClennanville SC

    The town is cute with a great community feel. The streets are lined with oaks, Spanish moss, and flowers. Birds sing and everyone gives a friendly wave. We saw an oak tree over 1,000 years old, and dined at a wonderful restaurant called TW Graham Co which had soft shell crab.Read more

  • Georgetown SC

    Georgetown is named after a king George and is the third oldest town in South Carolina. The historic street houses many little shops and museums. The third Thursday of the month is a sip and stroll. There are two public docks for day use and a free maritime museum with lots of information.Read more

  • Waccamaw River and Bucksport Marina

    We stopped at the marina for the night. It also acts as a camping ground with some amenities. A restaurant is in the area with games but is currently closed. The games are still available including giant Jenga and connect four. The river is fresh water and calm and surrounded by lovely trees. Perfect for kayaking.Read more

  • Barefoot Landing

    We made a quick stop for inch at Ducks Last Resort. Barefoot Landing is like a small shopping village just north of Myrtle Beach.

  • Beaufort NC

    Wind was coming so we made reservations at the marina for a few days. We walked the mile to town and explored the historic areas. The maritime museum was also impressive with information on Blackbeard

  • Fort Macon

    Fort Macon was very impressive. The visitors area was a mix between a maritime
    Museum and a nature exhibit. Lots of information and exhibits. The fort itself was fun and had great displays of information through the ages. Around the fort is a 3 Milne trail through the woods and over the ocean sand dunes.Read more

  • Oriental NC

    We stopped for a few days in Oriental it’s a little town with one main streets that is lined with small shops. The town is decorated with dragons which are fun to search for.

  • Ocracoke

    Ocracoke is an island on the Outer Banks. It consists of a small town and a Long Beach. Only accessible by ferry, it’s a National park. Bike and golf cart rentals are available. The second oldest operating lighthouse stands on the island.
    We took some time to take kiteboarding lessons and get a massage.

  • Roanoke Island

    We visited the island and the town of Manteo. The island is known as the home of the lost colony. In the 1500s it was the first English colony, but all the residents disappeared and they’re still searching to see what happened.

    We toured the downtown, a Christmas Shop, and the Festival Park which had information on the Native American people, colonial life, and a replica of the Ship Elizabeth.

  • Fort Raleigh Nagional Park and gardens

    April 2, 2023 in the United States

    The tip of the island is the National park where they believed the actual location of the settlement was. There’s an earthen mound that was recreated on the site of the original mound used as a defense structure.

    The Elizabethan Gardens next door honors and remembers the settlers that have disappeared. In the rose garden, there’s a rose given by Queen Elizabeth II from her Windsor Garden as a gift for Americas bicentennial.

    Last stop before we enter Virginia. It’s a very small town but is known for their Prime Rib. We just stayed the night, had dinner, and will be continuing on.

    Walking tour of Norfolk cannonball trail included the cannonball embedded in the church wall, MacArthur Memorial, and Taiwanese Pagoda.

  • Chrysler Museum

    The Chrysler Museum of Art was amazing. It had a glass studio next door that had glass blowing demonstrations. We were fortunate as they had a guest visiting who had appeared in the competition show Blown Away. We watched the special guest make a bowl.

    The museum was also spectacular with interactive exhibits and items from the ancient world. They had a reconstruction room where we watched a painting get repaired.
