Our tour began with a scenic drive from Copacabana Beach to Corcovado Hill (704m), home to Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic landmark - Christ the Redeemer. Standing beneath this towering statue, recently named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, we took in breathtaking panoramic views of Rio’s coastline, mountains, and cityscape.

From there, we continued to the Urca district and the world-famous Sugarloaf Mountain. Boarding the first cable car, we ascended to Urca Hill (215m), which offered spectacular views of Guanabara Bay. A second cable car took us to the summit of Sugarloaf (395m), where we soaked in stunning 360 degree views of Rio, its beaches, and the vast Atlantic Ocean.

Next, we visited the Saint Benedict Monastery, perched atop São Bento Hill in the city center. As we passed through Rio’s historic downtown, we stopped at the Metropolitan Cathedral, an architectural marvel, before continuing to the Selarón Steps - a vibrant urban masterpiece created by the late Jorge Selarón.
