• Galapagos day two

    January 20, 2018 in Ecuador ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

So the days generally go like this. Early breakfast, walk/snorkle/swim, lunch, free time/siesta, walk/snorkle/swim, pre dinner drinks, briefing by naturalist, dinner and early night.

Its generally hot and humid so at the end of the day you are pretty tired.

The naturalist guides every walk. Ours is a very german in how she relates to us. At 6.29pm on the first night she came looking for us for the 6.30pm briefing.

This morning its Santiago Island Sullivan Bay.

This morning's walk was over a lava field. The landscape is abit Mars like. This trip I am prepared with two pairs of walking shoes (one with additional ankle support) and my walking sticks. And this walk needed the foregoing as the surface was of course very uneven there were lots of sharp edges.

The patterns the lava made are lovely - like abstract artworks.
