Train then bus to Suzdal. Was here last year so really only here to see it covered in snow but to no avail.
Staying in a homestay so that will be interesting.

Meaghan's TravelsIts a small town but has 30 beautiful churches 14 bell towers and 5 monastries many of which are unesco listed. Its part of whats called the golden circle of ancient towns that escaped Soviet demolition. Would have preferred Moscow for xmas but that was the tour itinerary! But xmas eve at Lena's was right up there!

Meaghan's TravelsIntrepid tour called xmas highlights even though I said I would never tour with them again! But russian tour leader very good unlike the latin american ones. Also the group was alot of fun - having mostly Australians rather than English helped!
ПутешественникWe had a bad tour leader with a different company once and I know how it can affect a tour :/ and yes the group also is a huge factor ... had a bad one of those once too ... ugh. Like you though I’ve had great leaders and groups too ..... we press on . I’m glad this one turned out well for you .

Meaghan's TravelsI saw a fabulous full length silver number which was pretty spectacular but too tired to try it on. Very Ginger Rogers. I thought I could wander around Christmas in it! But most are tight short and tarty!!

Cabin small and train had no proper dining carriage but generally ok. We had so much food with us. Russians generally bring their own food on all train trips and are very generous in sharing it.
