• Mask workshop with Gerald Montoya

    We traveled to the community of Escazú in order to visit the unique workshop of Gerald Montoya, whose grandfather was a mask artist. Masks are with in a celebration on Saints Day, with lots of dancing. The devil and skeleton hold whips made of dried cow intestine and will hit you. The masks are to ward off the evil powers.
