El Chatan

Today we ventured to El Chatin, to get our first peak at Andes mountains in Patagonia. Mother Nature cooperated with blue skies, crisp air, and warm sun. We had spectacular views of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. Both seemed to defy our native understanding of what mountains look like. Several short hikes to views and waterfalls added to the experience. Although it was almost a 2 hour tour bus ride in both directions, the views were worth it. As with most spectacular nature views, it was difficult to capture the grandeur on camera.Read more
