• Late Night Start - Later Arrival

I've actually planned to stop work at 3 pm and make my way to my first stop on the way to Slovakia. However, my clients had other plans... 55k were in the pipeline and ready to be sold - but you've got to manage all of that first. It was such a stressful day that I worked 8 hrs straight until 5 pm - finishing up a mere 18k, and leaving the rest for my colleagues. Disastrous.
Because I could barely breathe in-between my shift (I was too busy drinking coffee to get rid of my leftover milk before leaving), I had to clean up my flat and go out with Luni afterwards - oh, and eat, something I didn't really have to for before either. At 7 pm, I was ready for takeoff. And then my host for the night texted me, that the check-in was only until 8 pm. But I had to drive around 4,5 hrs. Ffs.
So I called her (I really don't want to know how much that cost me) but she didn't really understand. So I texted her asking whether I could check-in later. She was so kind to prepare a self-check-in and said that she'd come the next morning to get a copy from my passport and collect the money for Aluna staying in the apartment as well. Thank God she mentioned my passport because I would have forgotten it. I mean, as long as I'm in the EU it's not such a biggie, but I much rather travel with my passport than only my ID. What I did forget at home though, is the dog passport for Aluna. I mean, I've never ever been asked for her passport before, but with my luck with the Slovakia trip, I can just imagine that it'll be a first. Well, we'll see.
The drive was easy, as the A38 and A72 were mostly free and I sped down the road with around 150-170 km/h at all times. The darkness somehow actually made it easier to concentrate for me. Or maybe it was only the caffeine running through my veins. The dance moves and passionately sung lyrics I've memorized from the endless times I've heard my Stray Kids playlist before were also helping quite a lot.
As per my usual preparations, I didn't quite know whether I had to pay a toll for the Czech Republic highways or not, so I called my dad. He was on his own way to Croatia with his new partner, but luckily she could Google for me. I was certain that there would be a toll station near the border but apparently, there wasn't. So I stopped at the very first opportunity and googled my way through the internet until I had paid for the toll. Better safe than sorry.
I arrived at the apartment around midnight, after nearly crashing into at least 20 deer and multiple trees suddenly jumping on the road (or maybe I didn't expect the curves... well). But the absolute coolest thing was, that right after the border crossing, I saw a wolf (!) right next to the street. I first thought it to be a fox, but it was much taller and grey, so I'm 99% sure it was a wolf. I've never seen a wolf in the wild. Crazy!
