A Break in Brno with Chai and Cathedral
27 Eylül, Çek Cumhuriyeti ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C
I mentally prepared to leave my beautiful apartment behind and brought all my luggage to my car. When I safely secured Aluna in her seat, I noticed a yellow paper glued on my car window and immediately knew something was up. My glance fell down on the wheel-clamp. Of course. Of course this shitty country that has brought me nothing but cancelled/postponed plans, rain and castles now had to give me my first wheel-clamp. Over what?!
I looked around and spotted an explanation: The park sign apparently stated that these were only spots for residents. Did I read that beforehand? No. Did my host tell me about it? No. Well, fuck!
I called the police as it was asking me to on the paper and finally got someone with half-baked English on the phone. They told me they'd send a police patrol around. I really didn't want to pay that shit. Like... I've been a resident these past two days? Doesn't that count?
When the patrol came the answer was apparently not. So I had to pay 50 € (!) and got rid of the wheel-clamp. At least the whole shenanigans only took 30 min of my time. Pissed af, I drove as fast as I could to finally leave Slovakia behind.
I mean, the country itself can't do anything against what life threw at me to always be postponed. And it also didn't control the weather or the amount of castles. And it most definitely wasn't at fault for my stupidity of not being able to read signs. But all that together just left a very bad taste in my mouth. #39 was just not my lucky number, let's be real.
I quickly left Slovakia behind and stopped in Brno. On my way to Slovakia, I had planned to stop here but didn't have the time nor the energy, so now was the time to shine.
As soon as I left Slovakia, the sun came through of course, so I quite enjoyed a stroll around the city and sat down at a café where I not only had a tiny Chai but also a chocolate cake with salt on top to enhance the sweetness. It didn't help the taste itself. The cake looked gorgeous but it was a bit like these absolutely stunning looking muffins you get at a bakery and then you taste it and it's barely anything that resembles chocolate. Anyway, I could go to the toilet before heading off to my stay for the night in Karlsbad.Okumaya devam et
