• Day 125

    September 1, 2023 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 46 °F

    Miles hiked: 23.8
    Campsite: 1756
    Weather: 60s, windy, partly cloudy
One word to describe the day: fall

Last night was insanely windy but it didn't get that cold, luckily. I woke up early so I could get to red's meadow for lunch. I hiked 15 mi by 1:00. And was eating a cheeseburger and fresh fruit by 1:15! This morning's hike was beautiful and had great views but it was so windy! Red's meadow is a cute little resort with a hot spring, cabins, restaurant and small store. They also have horses there as well. I decided to head back on trail and do enough miles tonight so I can get to VVR tomorrow afternoon. I need to hike 20 mi to be able to catch the 4:45 ferry across the lake to the resort.

There is definitely a chill in the air! The flowers are changing colors and it feels like fall. September 1st on the dot. Once I get to VVR I am on my last stretch in the Sierra so winter just needs to hold out a little longer 🙏
