It got below freezing last night but I stayed warm! I ate breakfast, packed up and left VVR at 8:00 a.m. on the shuttle. They dropped us off at the trailhead. Phew today was hard! Alot of elevation gain and loss plus 8 days of food makes for a tough day. Each day my pack will get a little lighter. And I'm pretty sure each day will get a little harder when it comes to mountains to climb. Both literally and figuratively! Today I climbed over Selden pass. And had a few river crossings but all were easy. Each day in this stretch will include at least one pass, maybe two.
