  • Tarpon Springs Aquarium

    August 4, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

  • Weeki Wachee Springs

    August 5, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

My first host is so nice. His name is Jonathan and he offers to take me kayaking at the park. We load up and see the Crystal clear water hoping to see some manatees

  • Great kayaking

    August 5, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

My host had these really cool kayaks where you can pedal around. It took me a while to get used to them, but everyone was so jealous. I don't blame them. They are really awesome kayaks.

  • Arriving in Inverness

    August 5, 2015 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

I left my host in Land O'Lakes and headed over to Inverness. I met Jeff and his girlfriend, Kristen. Great couple. They took me out on a bicycle tour of the local area. I took pics with the Cooters. We had a great Mexican casserole and got ice cream from a local place. Great nightRead more

  • Homosassa Springs

    August 5, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

I didn't get to see any manatees at Weeki Wachee. I decide I'll have better luck at Homosassa. Indeed I do. I watch a few manatees be fed. Pretty cool

  • Hunter Springs

    August 5, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

I finished at Homosassa and wasn't ready for the adventure to end so I was told to check out Hunter Springs. The water was chilly for me and a little cloudy. I was told that the spring is usually very clear, but the heavy rainfall from the days previous made the water murky. I hung out for a little while thoRead more

  • Inverness, United States

    August 6, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Went to exercise with Kristen at a local park that her family exercises at and found this golfer tortoise. I had to take some pics with him, even though I later was thoroughly by my boy scout friends to never do that again. We did find the education trail which was kinda coolRead more

  • 450 miles

    August 7, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

I did my first really long drive and decided I can't do it anymore. I was supposed to drop in Atlanta and check it out, but I just didn't have the energy from driving all day.

  • Kennesaw Mountain

    August 8, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

It's Saturday and I decide to check with my hosts, Ira and Terry, to see if they want to join me and/or give me suggestions of a place to visit. They decided not to go out, but suggested Kennesaw Battlefield or Stone Mountain. I started hiking and it was packed because it was a volunteer day to help fix the trails. I'm hiking along thinking that if I only do a few miles I can visit both mountains. Unfortunately that did not happen since I got lost on the trails and ended up hiking for 10 miles before I found the visitor center again.Read more

  • Georgia National Cemetery

    August 9, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

I head out towards my next destination and make a pit stop at the cemetery. It was pretty, but I only stayed a little bit. I did think that I got lost getting to the cemetery because the entrance is such a long winding road.Read more

  • Alabama

    August 9, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

I make it to Alabama. I thought the trip was kinda fun since I drive through three states pretty quickly. I talk to the ranger and asks how long it would take to visit the monument. She states 30 minutes if I really took my time and she also lets me know that there is a separate hike I can do as well. I also ask her what else there is to do nearby and she hesitates and let's me know that it is Sunday, so nothing really because I'm in the South and places close down just about everyone is in church. I finish both viewing the monument and trail within 35 minutes and quickly get out of Alabama.Read more

  • Klotho

    August 9, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

I fill up my tank for the first time and find I'm getting 37 mpg and it makes me super happy. My next host is very interesting. We started texting before I left for my trip and he let me know that he doesn't go by any name, but rather he lets people name him. I just called him Hey and refer to him as Klotho from his username. He introduces me to his friend Brandi. We had out to downtown Chattanooga. He treats us to a pretty awesome dinner. Later that night we pay monopoly. We tried playing the electronic version, but that got complicated. He kicked our butts and we watched some YouTube videos before I headed off to bed.Read more

  • Playing darts

    August 9, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Klotho was trying to show me how to throw darts. I'm not very good, but Brandi and I have the very exact same skill level. It was picture worthy.

  • Ruby Falls

    August 10, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

I'm really excited that I'm getting to go to my first cave of the trip and that my host and friend are going as well. They had went to Rock City the day before and thought it would be nice to go with me. The falls were beautiful and the guide was funny.Read more

  • Downtown Nashville

    August 11, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

I get an early start to the day and start walking downtown. I eventually find the visitors center. The man was so helpful. He gave me a a walking map of the city and I started wandering walking by all the history and making my way to the capital. The capital tour guide let us know that it was the only capital building to have two people buried in the walls and four more buried on the grounds. Pretty interesting.Read more

  • Grand Ole Opry

    August 11, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

I head out of downtown and drive over to the Grand Ole Opry and take the backstage tour. Blake Shelton gives a few video tours and the tour guide shows us around. We see some of the dressing rooms, the marker of how high the flood was, and that the stage is set up as a church to follow it's history.Read more

  • Nashville, United States

    August 11, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

I drive out to see the Bluebird Cafe like I promised my Mom because we are both Nashville fans. It is in a strip mall, which tells you how Hollywood gives you false impressions. I also go to my very first Trader Joe's. Great food. I leave and head out to Bowling Green, Kentucky to meet my next host, Heath.Read more
