  • Hunter Springs

    5. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

I finished at Homosassa and wasn't ready for the adventure to end so I was told to check out Hunter Springs. The water was chilly for me and a little cloudy. I was told that the spring is usually very clear, but the heavy rainfall from the days previous made the water murky. I hung out for a little while thoWeiterlesen

  • Kennesaw Mountain

    8. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

It's Saturday and I decide to check with my hosts, Ira and Terry, to see if they want to join me and/or give me suggestions of a place to visit. They decided not to go out, but suggested Kennesaw Battlefield or Stone Mountain. I started hiking and it was packed because it was a volunteer day to help fix the trails. I'm hiking along thinking that if I only do a few miles I can visit both mountains. Unfortunately that did not happen since I got lost on the trails and ended up hiking for 10 miles before I found the visitor center again.Weiterlesen

  • Alabama

    9. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

I make it to Alabama. I thought the trip was kinda fun since I drive through three states pretty quickly. I talk to the ranger and asks how long it would take to visit the monument. She states 30 minutes if I really took my time and she also lets me know that there is a separate hike I can do as well. I also ask her what else there is to do nearby and she hesitates and let's me know that it is Sunday, so nothing really because I'm in the South and places close down just about everyone is in church. I finish both viewing the monument and trail within 35 minutes and quickly get out of Alabama.Weiterlesen

  • Klotho

    9. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

I fill up my tank for the first time and find I'm getting 37 mpg and it makes me super happy. My next host is very interesting. We started texting before I left for my trip and he let me know that he doesn't go by any name, but rather he lets people name him. I just called him Hey and refer to him as Klotho from his username. He introduces me to his friend Brandi. We had out to downtown Chattanooga. He treats us to a pretty awesome dinner. Later that night we pay monopoly. We tried playing the electronic version, but that got complicated. He kicked our butts and we watched some YouTube videos before I headed off to bed.Weiterlesen

  • Ruby Falls

    10. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

I'm really excited that I'm getting to go to my first cave of the trip and that my host and friend are going as well. They had went to Rock City the day before and thought it would be nice to go with me. The falls were beautiful and the guide was funny.Weiterlesen

  • Downtown Nashville

    11. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

I get an early start to the day and start walking downtown. I eventually find the visitors center. The man was so helpful. He gave me a a walking map of the city and I started wandering walking by all the history and making my way to the capital. The capital tour guide let us know that it was the only capital building to have two people buried in the walls and four more buried on the grounds. Pretty interesting.Weiterlesen

  • Grand Ole Opry

    11. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

I head out of downtown and drive over to the Grand Ole Opry and take the backstage tour. Blake Shelton gives a few video tours and the tour guide shows us around. We see some of the dressing rooms, the marker of how high the flood was, and that the stage is set up as a church to follow it's history.Weiterlesen

  • Nashville, United States

    11. August 2015 in den USA ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

I drive out to see the Bluebird Cafe like I promised my Mom because we are both Nashville fans. It is in a strip mall, which tells you how Hollywood gives you false impressions. I also go to my very first Trader Joe's. Great food. I leave and head out to Bowling Green, Kentucky to meet my next host, Heath.Weiterlesen
