    Walker park

    I left the museum and headed to the sculpture garden at walker park. I saw the famous spoon and cherry and a few other pieces. I'm not sure if I saw everything because the artwork was spread out and apparently some even get moved around from time to time.En savoir plus

    I get to the mall and see that it's built around the Nickelodeon theme park. I knew one was there, but it kinda cool to see it in person. An indoor theme park just because they can.

    Lego store

    I'm waking around the Mall of America and I'm not truly impressed by most of it. I was thinking I was for sure going to get lost in this huge mall, but it's set up in a circle. I was impressed by their Lego store displays. A huge transformer, life size star wars figures, and mosaics. I never want to be the person putting those together, but they were fun to see.En savoir plus

    Guthrie theater

    After we finish making bbq, Lana and I head downtown so she can show me the view from the Guthrie. It obviously doesn't compare to the view in Chicago, but the building was pretty cool and she was so excited to show me around.     Drinking in the Midwest

    I get to Iowa and meet up with Megan again. She's awesome. We run a free errands and then head to her parents house for dinner. Smoked bbq and great potatoes with bacon. Later that night her best friend Tony arrives and we all go out drinking. I've been finding out that's just the thing to do out here. Drink, drink, and drink. They introduced me to quarter shots and I got to drive Tony's F350.En savoir plus

    Valentine

    I arrived in Valentine and immediately went over to the wildlife refugee. I saw a stuffed bison in the visitors center. Prairie dogs out in their field. They were everywhere! No elk, because they are worse to herd than cats. Then I went out to the overlook where I talked to a guy for a while and we got to see buffalo walk through the valley. The pictures look like blobs though, stupid cellphone camera.En savoir plus

    Snake falls

    I headed out about 30 miles to the only turn off with a light post to hike to this waterfall. Apparently this is a great place to visit when it's warm because you can stand behind the falls. I got pretty close. Then I went to hike around to see buffalo. No luck today. I jogged almost a 5k because my knees were killing me. I'm ready to head to South Dakota.En savoir plus

    I got to the park and the first question I ask is where is a gas station. I drive through and take pictures along the way. I don't really get out of my car much because it's super windy and cold. Cook rock formations though.En savoir plus

    Selfie fail

    It was beyond super windy and cold out in the badlands. First one, I thought the selfie already happened. Second one, got it and ran to my car and hoped that the wind wouldn't rip the door off my car.

    As soon I entered wind cave park, there was buffalo. I had to take a picture, then I had to wait as they decided to cross the street in front of me. I also saw antelope there as well. On my way to crazy horse, my GPS sent me through Custer park and thankfully I didn't have to pay. I saw some more buffalo. Then at Mount Rushmore the mountain goats were just chilling out there.En savoir plus

    Mount Rushmore

    I got there and mostly disappointed. I thought you could get way closer, plus all the activities were closed for the season. I did get to hang out with some cool people waiting for the memorial to be lit up for the night. One guy took the pictures of me pinching the heads. I also met a group of guys heading out to Montana to hunt. We all had a great time talking and headed out a few minutes after the lights turned on. I left, picked up Grant, and we joined Jon, my host for Deadwood, and his friends at buffalo wild wings.En savoir plus

    Wine tastings

    I picked up Jon and we headed out to the wineries. I wanted to check out Prairie Berry for their rhubarb wine. It was good, but their crock pot version of their pumpkin wine was amazing. Also great jellies. Then we went to the naked one. They had a good cherry wine and the labels on their bottles were funny. Lastly the stone one. I liked their jelly too.En savoir plus

    Jon took me for a quick ride in his restored 62 pickup truck before he sells it. Gas guzzler, but fun. We left to get costumes for both Jon and Jared and headed to our hotel room in Lead.
