I went to a couchsurfing ugly Christmas sweater party minus the ugly sweaters. Everyone was awesome. I met people from all over the world and my peppermint chow was a hit.

I went shopping with my host for new sneakers and possibly a watch. No purchases, but I got to see huge lines to get into stores and a really big Christmas tree. Gettingng into the holiday spirit.
Beach of a thousand steps

One of my hosts recommended I check out this beach in Laguna. It was nice, but awesome once I found the cave you can walk through to see the tide pools. I would have explored more if it was low tide.
San Diego sunset

I left the beach and rushed over to see my first sunset in San Diego. I went to La Jolla beach. It sounded fun and was so pretty. The colors were amazing.
Torrey pines

I went on a walk on the beach heading south. I ended up in the state park and hiking for several miles. It was nice, but I was so not dressed for hiking. The beach was pretty to look at though.
Cabrillo monument

The weather wasn't as good as yesterday, but we still get out and explored. We went to see the monument. It's ok, not great and definitely much better without the rain.

I went to the park and hiked a few paths. The weather was nice once I started moving. The trees were really awesome to look at.
Death valley

I got to the park. I don't see the appeal, but I went to the lowest point in the US. I was all the dry land and headed out towards Vegas.
Red rock

I drove out to the park and checked it out. I really liked it there. I climbed halfway up, but went down because the sun was going down. Beautiful sunset.

I stayed to have dinner with Greg, Bill and his girlfriend. It was a huge and delicious feast that ended with peanut butter pie. It was very yummy and my belly was super full.

Hoover dam
