  • Air and Space museum

    28. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

While getting my first oil change of the trip, I start chatting with an employee that tells me to check out this museum. It's a really cool place, but I need a tour guide. I don't have the attention span to read what all the places were used for. They had all the real deal vessels. Huge place and it's located at the airport.Les mer

  • Tim McGraw concert

    28. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

Pam and Charles, my friends back home, sent me video that I requested of the Tim McGraw concert that they went to. I got jealous and decided if I could make it happen I would go to one as well. Totally worth it. I had an amazing time and lived every second of it. I left the concert and headed to Abel's home in Alexandria.Les mer

  • Alexandria

    29. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

I was supposed to go to the baseball game with Abel, but his plans changed. I spent the day checking out local thrift stores and found an outfit to go line dancing at Nick's by his house. I was the only one from the group dancing, but had so much fun.Les mer

  • Gettysburg

    30. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

I didn't plan it out well, but I walked about 7 miles of Gettysburg National Park in cheap old navy flip flops. Not my best move, and I feel like it just wasn't my kind of park. A lot of monuments. I would need a tour guide to make it interesting for next time. I did talk to the reenactment actors. I learned some pretty cool stuff from them.Les mer

  • Doukenie winery

    31. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

Tom suggested I check out this winery. He thought they have tours, but no such luck. The lady was super nice and gave me a fake tour and we chatted for a while. I walked around and looked at some grapes.Les mer

  • Harpers Ferry

    31. august 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

This was the first time I got to use my America the beautiful pass. The security lady was super nice and punched out September for me, since they forgot to do it when I bought it. I was originally going to do a hike to get to a scenic view, but instead I met Anne and we walked the Appalachian trail going North for a while. We also cane across 5 backpackers on the trail. We talked to all of them for a little while. Two were hiking together said they had been out for two weeks and did about 200 miles already.Les mer

  • Ben's Chili Bowl

    1. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Tom and I take the subway into D.C. and head straight to this famous restaurant. Great chili and Tom and I were surprised to see that this place was still supporting having Bill Cosby as a customer.

  • Smithsonian zoo

    1. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

We took an uber, my first, to the zoo. We walked all the exhibits. Nice free zoo to visit. It does need some TLC, but they had some cool, educational, and unique exhibits.

  • Food

    1. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

On our way to DuPont Circle, Tom shows Mr the historic place where President Reagan got shot and I pretend to be the shooter behind the wall. We finally eat at the bookstore. I have a delicious seafood dish. Afterwards, we go inside and Tom shows me the book I'm going to need to buy if I'm going to travel overseas.Les mer

  • Fort McHenry

    2. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

This is the birthplace of "The Star-Spangled Banner." We were debating even going here, but then I realized that it's part of the NPS and I was able to use my pass for both of us. Some interesting history. The flag that we were holding is 1/9 the size of the one in the Smithsonian. Also our current flag is the 26th version. We walked around, took some pictures, and headed to lunch.Les mer

  • Naval academy

    3. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

As I walked up to the visitors center, I just snuck into the tour that was heading out. The tour guide explained about the people that lived there and done if the history. The highlight was seeing the formation and ritual they do everyday for lunch at 12:05.Les mer

  • Dogfish Head

    3. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

It's basically out in the middle of nowhere, but this was a super great place and in glad I made this my stop in Delaware. Even the tree sculpture in the front had a cool story. It was bought from the artist at burning man for $1, but took $75,000 to erect at the brewery.Les mer

  • Brewery tour

    3. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

This tour was fantastic. The tour guide was so informative, inactive, and super funny. It just sounds like a great place to work if you enjoy drinking beer. The company treats their employees so good.

  • Wildwood boardwalk

    4. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

I met Harry and we walked the entire boardwalk. Since he's a local, he knew a bunch of people working on the strip. We got free parking and ice cream. It was really cool that you could go on the rides all throughout the summer.Les mer

  • Cape May lighthouse

    4. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

We left the boardwalk and took a bike ride through Cape May. This was my first time on a motorcycle. We got to the lighthouse and walked over to the beach. I found out they charge to walk onto the beach. They even patrol and kick out off the beach if you don't pay. Such a weird concept.Les mer

  • Historic Cape May

    4. september 2015, Forente stater ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

We continued on the tour and even got to see a horse and carriage. My favorite quote from Harry was "look at the old houses and the fake old houses." He even pointed one out. He also told me how people that but homes out there are made to allow tours through their houses during the summer.Les mer
