  • Dinner and boardwalk

    I went out to dinner with Harry and his family. They were so fun to talk to. The good was delicious. I had the crab cake tacos and sauteed spinach. Yummy. Then Harry and I walked the boardwalk at night. It's great to see it all lit up at night. I even got a picture when they put a smiley face on the Ferris wheel.Read more

  • Fake palm trees

    Before I left, I had to take pictures of the fake trees all over the place. I thought they were so funny. They even cane in different colors. I headed out to NY to Yonkers and hit the tools hard. About $30 to get over there. I hung out with my uncle for a little while and then went to stay with my cousin and his girlfriend, Robby and Maria. Later that night we went out bowling and stayed up really late in the man cave.Read more

  • Sandeman's tour

    Maria decided a good way to check out NYC was to do a walking tour like they did all over Europe. It actually worked out perfectly because I have never been to that part of the city. I got to see and learn a lot about the area. It started at the old customs house and ended at the world trade center.Read more

    I can't believe I'm doing a tour with two New Yorkers and they haven't been to the Statute of Liberty. I'm going to take them one day.

  • Being a tourist on the Brooklyn bridge

    We found a groupon so that we all would have bikes to ride into Brooklyn and headed towards the bridge. Even though we biked across, I still stopped and took my tourist shots on the bridge. I had to. It was my first time in Brooklyn.Read more

    After having NY pizza for lunch, we decided to bike to Coney Island. Although it was a nice ride and a good way to see a lot of Brooklyn, it was a real workout. Half way through we can't to the consensus that we were taking the subway back.Read more

    We finally make it to our destination. We walk around for a little and get some ice cream on the boardwalk.

    Exhausted from our ride and running out of time, we take the subway back. We return the bicycle with one minute to spare. Robby chauffeurs me around on the back of his bike after we returned mine.

  • Chinatown and Little Italy

    It was my first time at both places. We ate a small place we found in Chinatown. The eggplant was delicious. Then we walked over to Little Italy, where I had to have a cannoli. Good end to the big day in NYC.Read more

    Maria pointed out that this is the largest crane in the world working on building the new Tappen Zee bridge.

  • Lake time

    Robby, Maria, Alex, and I all headed out to the lake but it was super crowded. He drive to the other side and found a nice place to just hang out and enjoy the day. Robby kept hopping in and really enjoying the water. It was a bit too rocky for me to get into the lake.Read more

    We grilled up some dinner and played a few rounds of pool. It was a cool bachelor house. The room was a bit small, so every now and then we had to make short stick shots. Good times.

    I spent my morning hiking up to the scenic view on the mountain. Nice view. Did a little of the AT again too.

    I just downloaded alltrails and found this hike. It was my first time climbing up the mountain. I didn't make it all the way to the top, because I couldn't find my way up. 700 feet is still a good distance up in the air. Pretty view.Read more

    I went looking for another trail to hike and came across this pool. Yes it was closed, but it was so hot out and no one was around. I jumped over the fence and cooled off. Very relaxing and of coarse I'm always pool/beach ready. I headed into town and checked out the quaint neighborhood.Read more

    I took the tour of the home. Apparently, he convinced his mom to add both wings and the third floor to the house for the growing family.

    I can't remember and haven't done the research yet, but FDR had a horse named New Deal. Both the president and first lady were buried in the garden with their two dogs.

    Interesting museum. Very inactive and educational. I didn't stay there that long, because I had other places to visit today. I was really entertained that the entrance is behind a glass barrier and that the FBI has such a huge file on Eleanor Roosevelt, because of her suspicious behavior.Read more

    This is some of the highlights from the first floor. The house was well known for not allowing children to stay there. The guests participated in lush life including a seven coarse meal with watching wines.Read more

    Following traditions, men and women did not sleep together. The house was very grand, but the Vanderbilts did treat their staff good. The help ate the sane meals and were paid better than other employers. The tour guide even said that one person was left $250,000 upon the Vanderbilts passing.Read more

    The garden is probably three times the size of my house. It was still very pretty and I'm sure even better during spring.

    This was Eleanor Roosevelt's home and retreat. It seemed very homey and cozy. The tour guide said she always preferred this house to the mansion across the way and being away from her mother-in-law.

    We got up here, unpacked, and headed out to Golden Corral. I just had to have cotton candy and stuff my face. We got back and enjoyed our time around the campfire.

    I got to enjoy going to the gym with Vicky and Vinny. Then the girls headed out to the pool while the weather was nice. McKenzie got to eat olives off her fingers.
