Browns Bar

Another 44 miles today puts us 22 miles from the Ohio River. I have to say I’ve really enjoyed the Mississippi River and having the ability to anchor out more. Tonight we are tucked in around an island just far enough to avoid wakes and not see the four boats anchored out in the river just beyond us. The amount of sand on this river is pretty spectacular. The bar here is huge. Tonight we also get the chance to see the northern lights. We are pretty far south now but the sky is clear and we are away from city lights. Those two variables have prevented viewing every time they’ve been on display up until now. Hoping it gets better as the evening progresses.Read more
