  • Guatemala

    October 10, 2025 in Guatemala ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

Would love to say I've been here... and can in some way, shape or form... but cruising in for less than 24hrs and not venturing much past the port, I don't feel comfortable saying I've 'really' been to this country, however I would want to make a real effort to immerse myself in this place next time I'm in the region 🦋Read more

  • Costa Rica

Again, like Guatamala a short stop in port time, venturing a little further out but not much in the scheme of the diversity available in this country...

One of the most fascinating facts I heard and love... was how they do not have a military, disbanding it many years ago... If only this was the way of all nations and humanity 🙏Read more

Us humans are amazing creatures.. we can truly create and manipulate our environment in ways that last more than a single lifetime and one can only hope, benefits/serves humanity 🙏

  • Cartagena, Columbia

    October 16, 2025 in Colombia ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Really liked Cartagena and would love to come back to experience it as more than a cruising tourist, the architecture, people and nature have so much to offer..

Wouldn't come via the Port and the 'zoo' though.. I have included a number of pictures and videos for only one reason, to hopefully dissuade you from going there 🫣 I struggle with this type of captivity and even more so when it's been deliberately created for the tourist.. the spaces these creatures get to inhabit is smaller than a shoebox in comparison to their natural environment, let alone a sanctuary or even any zoo that I've witnessed.. yet they have sloth, giant anteaters, turtles, flamingos, monkeys, mackaw and so many other birds..

Anyway, each to their own.. if it's your thing then you'll be stoked to get so close to these beautiful creatures I'm sure, because that seems to be what everyone else on the cruise remembered..
