What a way to cap an extraordinary eight days! Fellows took a full day to explore the Inca ruins.
The Women's Weaving Cooperative in Chinchero has been around for forty years preserving the traditions of Andean women in Peru. Fellows received quite a chemistry lesson in dying wool and thread. Art meets science through weaving!
Fellows spent the day visiting the local preK-6 school in Pumamarca, which was founded by the community with support from Peru's Challenge. Fellows shared strategies with teachers at the school, had fun with the students, and delivered 150 bilingual books to the school library.
Two days until departure! We're packing up and getting ready to meet the Fellows in Lima. Thanks to First Book (www.firstbook.org), we're bringing 150 books for students in Pumamarca. Stay tuned for more updates! #NEAFGlobal #GLFPeru2015
