What a shame you've had such a poor experience there.
It wasn't too bad Jane, Will's swim was good and there was just several small niggles. It also highlights one of the advantages of van travel- if you don't like a place, you can move on 🙂
That's true - and if the weather isn't kind it's easy to move on too. We did that in Sept 2004. Weather pretty awful when we crossed to Caen and having talked to someone at a medieval re-enactment at Eastnor about the medieval re-enactment at Puy-en-Velay we decided to head for there and had a most marvellous experience. It's known as Le Roi de Oiseau (the king of the birds) and the whole town and all the local communes are involved. We don't usually go for such busy events but it was really something special.
