Our hotel for our short trip to Lisbon. Mainly a business hotel, situated in a business district. But very close to Metro and bus links. Only 12 mins away from downtown Lisbon. Staff were very friendly and helpful and their English is immaculate!Read more

One of those places if you are a Catholic brings out some very deep emotions. Even if you are not a Catholic it is a peaceful and impressive area. Busy with pilgrims from all over the world but so big you don't feel crowded. Free parking everywhere and a short drive from a national park which has some lovely views too.Read more

A night on the town!

Spent an 'interesting' evening drinking and eating. Starting off at a small bar called Menina e Moça. Happy Hour prices on drinks from 1200 - 2200! So only €2.50 for a very large beer! Very drunk group of Brits outside but that only added to the entertainment! The place is a small literary bar with a big selection of books to buy and poetry and literary quotes adorning the walls. Colourful artwork on the ceiling and quaint coloured chairs and tables (tiny things!) add to the atmosphere!

We moved on the the Time Magazine food market (Mercado Ribeira) for some snacks. It's a bit commercialised but there is some fantastic seafood to be found there but a bit on the pricey side.

If I had one complaint it would be that we were continually approached by people trying to sell us various drugs. No real police presence to be seen.

Lisbon definitely comes to life late! We headed home at about midnight and it was only just getting going!Read more
