    Manchester Airport Departure

    Flying to Mumbai via Bahrain and have a one night layover to visit Bab el-Bahrain Souk.
    Unfortunately, our departure is delayed as the inbound flight had to be diverted to Iran 🇮🇷 with a passenger having a suspected heart attack. At the moment, we have a three hour delay. Hopefully, this won't slip any further.
    Gulf Air is really competitive on flight prices, often 30% to 40% cheaper than Emirates.    Read more

    Mumbai to Goa - Train

    Booked to travel by train on the 10103 / MANDOVI EXPRESS departing Mumbai at 7.10am. Twelve hour journey in a First Class (AC) sleeping compartment.
    Unfortunately, for the first time in my thirty years of travelling, someone today stole my mobile phone from a inside pocket.
    Despite some justified frustration on my behalf, both the police and train management team did all they could to help find the thief.
    Don't believe that my phone will ever be seen again.
    Sadly, all my pictures from yesterday have been lost as don't think they were backed-up . Many good memories will not be posted until I can access my old phone data and images.

    Baga Beach - Goa

    Sorry for the delay since our last post. As reported earlier, our train journey and theft of my mobile phone on 30th December 2023 was not a good day.
    However, this didn't end, in fact became much worse 😕. Arrived at our Goa hotel, which I confirmed before departing the United Kingdom to find that the hotel didn't exist. My reservation via Booking.com and it's sister agent OYO were both unaware that the address existed with a fictitious hotel.
    Finally, managed to find alternative accomodation and get to bed at 1.30am.
    The team at Booking.com have really been fantastic and started a fraud enquiry.
    Found new accomodation in Baga Beach for our New Year celebrations. Spent New Years Eve in Vagator with a great group of Indians from Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Indonesia.
