• Stopped for the night

Vanilla and I are heading south this afternoon, easing out of NC500 mode but keeping the holiday alive a bit longer. I’ve spotted a cracking place in the Brit Stops guide for tonight — The Eagles Head in Over Kellet, Carnforth 🦅.

I’ll be pulling in about 6pm, just as the evening light sets in. Plan is simple: park up in the car park, pop the top, then head inside for a pint and a proper pub meal. The menu looks spot on — steak & ale pie, roasts, and Yorkshire puds big enough to be a meal on their own. 🍺🥧🔥

Feels strange leaving the Highlands behind, but this part of the trip has its own magic — quieter roads, cosy pubs, and the feeling that the journey doesn’t have to end just yet.

I’ll let you know how the pub is once I’m settled. For now, Vanilla’s eating up the miles and I’m looking forward to a warm evening stop. 🚐🌌
