• Today’s plan

    May 28 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

    🚐🇦🇹 NIX EUROPEAN DRIFT
Zell am See ➜ Schmittenhöhe ➜ Bavaria 🇩🇪🍺

Today is one of those properly balanced European road-trip days.

Cold Alpine air this morning. Cable car up Schmittenhöhe. Coffee overlooking the Austrian Alps. Then drifting north into Bavaria for beer gardens and lakeside Germany tonight.

    The rough itinerary for today:

☀️ Early morning coffee in Zell am See
🚐 Slow drive through the lakeside roads around town
🚠 Cable car up Schmittenhöhe for panoramic Alpine views
📸 Wander the summit trails and grab photos
☕ Mid-morning coffee stop overlooking the mountains
🏔️ A bit of exploring without doing a full-on hike
🚐 Scenic drive north through Austria into Germany
🍺 Evening beer garden somewhere in Bavaria
🌅 Sunset beside another ridiculous-looking lake

    The plan is simple:
    🏔️ mountains
    🚠 cable car
    📸 photos
    ☕ coffee
    🚐 scenic drive
    🍺 Bavarian beer by evening

No massive hikes today — just enough summit wandering for the views, atmosphere and “bloody hell” moments before rolling north again in Vanilla.

    Backpack today:
    📱 iPhone
    🔋 power bank
    🕶️ sunglasses
    🧥 lightweight waterproof
    💧 water
📸 maybe the drone if the wind behaves itself

    Wearing:
    👕 T-shirt
    🧥 hoodie
    👟 decent trainers

Because Alpine weather can go from:
    ☀️ “lovely warm morning”
    to
🥶 “why can I suddenly see my own breath?”

The roads around Zell am See this morning are absolutely ridiculous. Snowy peaks, turquoise lakes and scenery so perfect it genuinely looks AI-generated.

    By tonight:
    🇩🇪 Bavaria
    🍺 beer garden
    🌅 sunset
🚐 Vanilla parked beside another beautiful European lake

These are the days this trip is all about.
