    🚂 An Unexpected Railway Relic

    While wandering near Hannover, I stumbled across steam locomotive 038 711-8, built in 1922 and now resting peacefully after more than half a century of service. Once hauling passenger trains across Germany, this old Prussian P8 now stands as a monument to a different age of travel. Looking at the huge driving wheels and riveted boiler, it’s hard not to imagine the clouds of steam, the smell of coal, and the sound of a whistle echoing across the German countryside.
