Today I’m at the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2025 — the annual pilgrimage for every van enthusiast, gadget hunter, and dreamer with a map in their head and diesel in their veins.

Vanilla is parked up outside the NEC, looking every bit the part — Indium Grey, freshly polished, and ready for her next adventure. She’s waiting patiently while I dive into the halls of temptation inside.

This year’s focus: European campervan adventures 🌍

I’m exploring stands that showcase incredible touring routes — from the Route des Grandes Alpes 🇫🇷 to the Amalfi Coast Drive 🇮🇹 and the Grossglockner Pass 🇦🇹.

I’m also keeping my eyes peeled for:
⚡ Off-grid solar systems & lithium upgrades
📡 Campervan Wi-Fi and smart tech
🏕️ Aires, Stellplätze, and scenic overnight stops
📸 Drone-friendly campsites for future Nix Drones footage

If it promises freedom, sunlight, or a strong espresso — I’m interested.

☕ Coffee, Conversations & Campervans

The NEC has its own unique rhythm: the chatter of travellers comparing vans, the hum of coffee machines, and that unmistakable scent of new upholstery and possibility.

People from all walks of life — from full-timers to first-timers — swapping tales of rain in Wales, sunsets in Spain, and breakdowns that became adventures.

I’ll be wandering through the gadget stalls, talking solar and storage with the experts, and collecting ideas faster than I can write them down.

🌍 The Road Ahead

Every time I visit the NEC, I come home with new ideas and a renewed sense of wanderlust.

Maybe Vanilla’s next chapter lies beyond the Channel — driving through the Alps, hugging Italy’s coastline, or parking beside a Swiss lake as the sun dips behind the mountains.

But for today, the adventure begins here — in Birmingham — surrounded by inspiration, innovation, and the promise of the open road.
