Spectacular Arrival to Venice

Venice... How did I happen to be here?... It was a spectacular evening - arriving very late, during heavy rain and strong gusts of wind, finding the booked place closed, having my phone dead and then - being lucky with a hotel nearby that had the last room available, encountering someone who was born on the same day as me, and having great chat and drink afterwards.
