Winchcombe to Cheltenham - in the pouring rain!
34,123 steps (24.22 kms), what a slog, it felt like uphill both ways!
Sadly, the wind and rain marred the views this day. We did stop to visit Belas Knap this is a chambered tomb or long barrow. It dates from 33600 BCand was excavated in 1863 , here the remains of 5 children and the skull of an adult were found, Roman coins and pottery were also found.
Up to Cleeve Common and Cleeve Hill, then up and down again to Dowdeswell. We decided to walk to the Inn, although it was off the trail and closer to Cheltenham.  Literally 2 blocks from the Inn, the bridge had collapsed and we had to turn back and detour... exhausted and dripping wet is an understatement! The Inn was ... interesting... but the heat worked, and most of our gear dried.  Tomorrow is another day! ❤️🇬🇧🥾Læs mere
