Birdlip

27,520 steps (19.66 km) all the way to Birdlip! A tiny village with ONE amenity... The Royal George Hotel! The weather held, the wind was sharp and the rain kept at bay this day.
We walked through Seven Springs - thought to be the source of the River Thames...however, is actually the convergence of 7 tiny streams in a roundabout sort of in the middle of nowhere (so definitely challenging that thought!). Then up we go again to Leckhampton Hill to try catch the Devils Chimney (a craggy finger of rock thought to be left by the 18th century quarry workers as a joke). Then, through Crickley Hill and up the next hill to Birdlip.
We had some great views today and decent weather. We are keeping pace with a couple from the US, 2 from Canada, and another from Australia. Still loving the trail, the smell and sound of kicking leaves all day in really quite something. ❤️🇬🇧🥾Meer informatie
