    October 23 in England ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

23 341 steps (16.47 km) We got lucky today! It was supposed to rain all day, the shop keep told us we were foolish to walk today, we made it all the way and got to our hotel about 15 minutes before the sky opened up and the wind howled!
And what a grand hotel it is! I wasn't sure if they would let us in with our muddy rain pants.
Despite the kms involved,  it was a fairly good walking day with limited elevation gain...whew!
We played tag a bit with 3 ladies from Texas (who we met last night at the pub) also walking the trail.  And I had to sell my soul to a cow who was blocking the path... i vowed not to eat steak for 1 night, if he let me safely pass. Lots of peaceful steps today, lots of beautiful woods. We formally hit the half way mark today, and had a lovely picnic on Haresfield Beacon Hill.
We came upon an old well and so many squeeze gates and a squeeze style made of stone!
Lovely to run into and share dinner with team PA (Mike & Lesley). Four more days to go... and a weather warning for tomorrow... we'll probably ignore it. lol. ❤️🇬🇧🥾
