Today was for travel and settling in to our new neighborhood in Edinburgh. We're just down from the castle on the Royal Mile! It will be heaven to sleep in! After an exploratory walk (have to keep moving you know, although i probably won't be step counting anymore) and a light meal, it was laundry and 'hallelujah, there's a bathtub' time!
The "brick heart" on the Royal Mile is a mosaic known as the Heart of Midlothian, located outside St Giles' Cathedral. It marks the former site of the Old Tolbooth, a jail and courthouse that was demolished in 1817. Locals often spit on the mosaic for good luck, a tradition that originated from the contempt criminals had for the old prison, but is now done for good fortune.Baca lagi
