Day 8 - Maddy's House

After finishing off the final few blog posts we needed to do, we decided to head over to Point Leo as Simon had found a short walk with a lookout over to Philip Island. It took a bit longer than we originally anticipated so by the time we actually got there and had a quick wander it was time to come back again to pick Maddy up from work. On the way back we stopped in at Woolies to grab some bits and pieces for a BBQ.

At pretty much every beach and in lots of parks around Australia you will find free BBQ's. We haven't actually used one yet so we decided to head to Frankston Pier to use the BBQ's there. We had burgers and chicken kebabs and I also rustled up some Aussie Mexican dip that Tricia taught me how to make along with a mango salad.

We stayed on the pier until the sun went down and it started to get a little cold and then headed back to Maddy's. Somehow Maddy has managed to survive the last 14 years without watching Elf! It really doesn't feel like Christmas at all for us (probably due to the 35 degree heat and glorious sunshine) so in an attempt to get Christmassy we sat down and watched Elf with a glass of red.Läs mer
