We left Kupferquelle Resort about 8am and spent most of the day driving to Divundu, the 530km taking about 6 hours on pretty good roads. We stopped at Tambuti Lodge for lunch.
We are at Rainbow River Lodge for two nights. Accommodation is in little cabins spread out up the hill from the Kavango River. Lots of trees and birds.
The bar/restaurant is on a deck anove the river bank.
After we got settled in we all headed for the bar. We hadn't been there long when two hippos surfaced in the river just a few metres away!
6 Sept
Morning - game drive in Bwabwata National Park (separate footprint!).
After a quiet afternoon we boarded a boat at the lodge for a sunset river cruise. We headed upstream to a low waterfall then back down past the lodge, seeing a small crocodile, lots of hippos, and lots of birds including a colony of hundreds of Southern carmine bee-eaters nesting in the river bank.Read more
